Improve life for all children with disabilities and their families

A survey is being carried out with families and carers of children with disabilities to improve short breaks and respite care available to them.

The County Council’s Children with Disabilities Team is conducting the survey to find out the opinions of users, find out what’s available and look towards improvements.

Councillor Mrs Patricia Bradwell, Executive Councillor for Children’s Services, said:
“We recognise the hard work and commitment of many families and carers who are supporting children with disabilities in the county. It’s important that they get suitable, good quality breaks and respite care to improve their quality of life.”

“If you are caring for a child with disabilities then we want to hear from you and know your views. The questionnaire covers a wide range of areas including leisure activities, overnight breaks, the break in the day service, and befriending and support services.”

The survey is available from the Lincolnshire County Council website on  http://www.lincolnshire.gov.uk/shortbreaksquestionnaire and the feedback will be used to shape the service of the future. For further information on the survey, contact the Children with Disabilities Team on 01522 554786.
